The Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader was speaking to a gathering of lawyers in Lahore.
Criticising the ruling coalition, he remarked that it was ironic that the deputy prime minister and the allied parties were holding a long march against the government.
Sharif said that he was not opposed to any political party, including the Pakistan People’s party (PPP). However, he said that if the PPP government believed in democracy, it should care for the people.
He said that his party had supported the PPP government only for the sake of democracy.
Sharif said that everyone was responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi. However, he added that the number of unlawful killings witnessed in Pakistan was greater than anywhere else in the world.
