ISLAMABAD: Sindh police arrested Sikander Jatoi, father of Shahrukh Jatoi, from the premises of the Supreme Court on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
Sikander, father of one of the key suspects in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, had appeared in the apex court to secure bail.
Also on Thursday, the Supreme Court heard the suo motu case over Khan’s murder.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that Sikander should cooperate with the police in its investigation.
The chief justice earlier added that no one in the country was above the law, adding that Sikander should offer his arrest and should cooperate in the investigation.
Adjourning the hearing to Jan 16, the bench directed the authorities to arrest and present Shahrukh in the trial court on the said date.
Twenty-year-old Shahzeb was gunned down on Dec 25, 2012 near his house in Karachi’s Defence Housing Society and Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had taken a suo motu notice in this case.
Shahzeb, son of a DSP, was murdered reportedly after he had an altercation with another key suspect Siraj Talpur, whose servant had allegedly given verbal threats to the victim’s sister.
Shahrukh, who had fled to the UAE within hours after the murder, is in Dubai but the UAE government is in no hurry to detain him apparently because of a lack of coordination between foreign offices of the two countries, sources had told Dawn on Wednesday.
Dubai police might arrest Shahrukh in a few hours if there was proper coordination between the two governments, the sources had stated further.
They had said that up till now just a request had been sent by Pakistan Interpol to its counterpart in the UAE.
